FACILITIES

The Social Centre’s facilities are fully accessible and include:

• A small meeting hall (available daytime & evenings).

• A large hall (available after 6.00 pm weekdays and all weekend). Space for up to 140 people!

• A kitchen with fridge, freezer, large cooker, microwave, kettles, tea urns, cups, saucers & tea plates.

• Use of tables & chairs

• Ladies & Gents toilets + disabled toilet

• Large grassed area, which may be used for a separate charge payable to the school.

• A wide range of quality crockery & cutlery, marquees, and other equipment for hire.

No smoking is permitted in the building at any time.

HIRE OF HALL

Normally private bookings are for the use of all 3 units. The 3 units are: the small hall, the large hall, and the kitchen. Special rates are available to regular ‘user groups’ who can select which units best suit their needs for which they are charged accordingly. ‘User groups’, in return for their special rates, are asked to provide a representative member to sit on the Social Centre’s Committee and participate in functions which the Centre puts on each year to raise funds towards keeping the facility running.

• Six-hour private booking £120 + £15 per hour thereafter

• Shorter private bookings £25 per hour up to 6 hours

• Children's parties (daytime) £45

• Haversham/Little Linford User groups £7 per unit per session

• Other User groups - £10 per unit per session

• Special User Group Bookings £35 except for public holidays

Residents of Haversham and Little Linford (excluding User Groups) receive a 10% discount on the cost of the hire of the hall and of any equipment)

After use, all hirers are expected to sweep and clean all floors, and to clean and return all equipment used to its original storage area. Floor cleaning may be negotiated in advance at a cost of £25.

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all bookings, with the balance due no later than 2 weeks before the hire date.

Additionally, a separate £50 deposit is required at the time of booking, to be held against breakages, damage or any special cleaning requirements incurred as a result of the booking; otherwise it is refunded after the event.

100% of the booking fee will be charged for all bookings cancelled within 4 weeks of the booked date. Bookings cancelled more than 4 weeks before the booked date will be charged at 20% of the agreed cost.

HIRE OF SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

The Social Centre has a wide range of equipment which may be hired including:

• A wide range of catering crockery (teacups & saucers, side plates, dinner & dessert plates, serving platters) and cutlery. These can be hired for use at a function in the Social Centre or for home use. The charge is 10p per item for crockery, and 2p per item for cutlery, subject to a minimum charge of £5.

• Tables at £2 each, and chairs at 50p each; again subject to a minimum charge of £5, for that special party/function at home.

• Marquees are also available for hire by local residents at rates to be negotiated. We will also help with the erection and packing away.

The hirer is responsible for collecting and returning all equipment, and will be charged for damage or breakages. It is recommended that all hirers carry insurance against damage or breakages. Hiring and booking rates may be varied only at the discretion of the Social Centre committee.
