WELCOME TO HAVERSHAM VILLAGE SCHOOL
Haversham Village School is a school where all children are valued and encouraged to achieve their best. We cater for children between 4+ and 7 years old and welcome families from Haversham and surrounding areas.
The school has excellent facilities and attractive grounds, and is a friendly place where children enjoy learning and have plenty of opportunities to find out about the world around them. We are also able to use the rich resources of the local village and Milton Keynes throughout the curriculum.
We feel that children’s early years at school are very important. They are the foundations on which future leaning is built.
The small class sizes in the school help us to treat children as individuals and to support different needs, challenging those who excel and giving extra support where it is needed, so that the children have a really good start to their education.
Artist in Residence
We are very fortunate in having an Artist in Residence, Ms Alena Rajtorova, who has a room in the school for her studio, which is full of interesting things to see and do. In return she works with the children and teachers. This greatly enhances the children’s artistic opportunities. Alena works with textiles and weaves beautiful and imaginative pieces of fabric and wall hangings. Once a week children work with her in small groups on all sorts of art and craft activities. She also runs a class for children after school on some days and adult workshops.
The Friends of Haversham School (FOHS) provide invaluable support for the school. Every parent is a member by default and all parents take part in the activities in some way or other throughout the year. FOHS work closely with the school to help promote the welfare of the school – organising events for children and families, enabling parents and carers to socialise, and raising funds for particular projects and activities. The Friends group holds regular meetings and everyone is welcome – the more ideas, talents and help the better. However parents participate, the Friends’ contribution to the life of the school is enormous.
They can be contacted through the school.
